Kolomenskoye Museum and Nature Reserve

Russian wooden architecture
A special type of the national cultural heritage, the Russian wooden architecture reflects traditional methods of construction and characteristic dual-purpose nature of the buildings that were used both as fortifications and civil structures.
Highlights of the Kolomenskoye Museum
During the tour, visitors will discover peculiarities of traditional Russian construction and see the wooden buildings: Saint George Church, Mokhovaya Tower of Sumsky Ostrog and Nadvratnaya Tower of Nikolo-Korelsky Monastery, one of the few surviving examples of the 17th-century monastery (military) architecture.
